About the Conference

A Pandemic on top of the Pandemic

A Tsunami of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as type two diabetes, obesity, hypertension and cardiovascular disease is threatening not only our lives, but also the health and happiness of our children, families, and friends. These metabolic conditions were already placing a tremendous financial burden on our healthcare system and society well before the COVID-19 pandemic descended upon us, although the pandemic served to dramatically expose the profound weaknesses in our personal and societal immune systems. Indeed, we have learned that it is the very same people who suffer from metabolic NCDs who appear to be most susceptible to serious illness and death if infected with this novel virus and therefore comprise the majority (more than 90%) of the

“COVID-19 Risk Group.”

The Keto Live Project is dedicated to stemming this tide of chronic NCD. Keto Live seeks to build awareness and understanding of where our nutrition guidelines went wrong, and how those guidelines helped contribute to and continue to worsen the dire predicament in which we find ourselves today.

COVID-19 forced us, due to travel and meeting restrictions, to postpone our

2nd International Conference in Switzerland
"Ketogenic Metabolic Therapies - Future Prevention and Treatment of NCD"

to June 7th -11th 2021! Like this and thanks to our great speakers, we have been able to save the whole Conference Program and especially all our 86 CME Credits, 20 BANT- CPD Hours & 18 International Points for Nutritionists and Dietitians. But we think

We can't afford to wait - it's time to act! NOW!

It ́s not enough to wait for the magic bullet, a vaccine or any new medication.

To prevent further lockdowns of our economies and to make our society more resilient we need a shout out to our Politicians, Healthcare providers and Insurance Companies to stop ignoring the root causes of our vulnerability and finally start to

"Flatten the NCD Curve - to Face Future Viral Attacks"

Experts say that big improvements can be achieved within weeks – but our authorities have to get into brave and long-overdue action - learning and understanding the root cause of our weak immune systems. The Connection between NCD and Insulin Resistance. Why we urgently need to change our Nutrition and Treatment Guidelines. Including taxes and warning labels on sugar and highly processed foods. Changing the foods served in our Hospitals, care homes and schools and whey we need a drastic change in food production and clear subsidization of organic real food and water. And very important the need to educate doctors, medical students, and healthcare professionals, teachers, parents and children about the powers of food - for better or worse - and real food as medicine.

To provide the Information to our shout-out we created the additional

European Keto Live Conference from 13th to 15th of November 2020

"Ketogenic Metabolic Therapies -

Escape Route from the COVID-19 Risk Group?"

Keto Live again invited leading physicians, scientists, dietitians and practitioners to present and discuss the latest science on the Ketogenic Metabolic Therapies as a powerful medical tool in the fight against Non-Communicable Disease (NCD).

The structure of the Conference program again follows the already 18 years old study "Insulin resistance as a predictor of age-related diseases."

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11502781

On the connection between Insulin Resistance and chronic diseases, now called Non- Communicable Diseases, which was proven by many more scientific studies since. Isulin Resistance still the "Elephant in the room" and unfortunately, no longer age-related - as COVID-19 showed clearly.

Insulin resistance as a predictor of age

Follow the science and join us in Burghausen Bavaria

This time the Conference will take place Burghausen in the hart of Bavaria almost at the Centre of Europe in Germany. We will meet in the beautiful historic old town of Burghausen sandwiched between the 1 km long Castle, believed to be in the longest in the world and the river Salzach, the natural and actual border to Austria. About 45 Minutes drive from Salzburg Airport, 90 Minutes drive from Munich and about 30 km from one of King Ludwig II famous Castles Herren-Chiemsee located on a romantic Iland in the largest lakes of Bavaria featuring a smashing Mountain view. So a perfect destination for summer holidays. The area is famous for Bavarian Beer, Brezels, Semmelknödel and Apfelstrudel! All delicious but not Low Carb at all, why Burghausen and November?

Bavarian Autumn Food

First of all, I can assure you there are a lot of Bavarian low or even zero Carb goodies - like Schweinsbraten, Ripperl and Sauerkraut! And very important, Burghausen is the Hometown of the Keto Live Project and one of the possible locations where we hope to establish our

European Keto Live Centre - Information & Training Centre for Ketogenic Metabolic Therapies

The foundation for the European Keto Live Centre – Information and Training Centre for Ketogenic Metabolic Therapies was laid at the first Keto Live Conference in Switzerland, June 2019. The Centre is comprised of thirty-two founding members representing eight European Countries and experts like Georgia Ede and Prof Thomas Seyfried from the USA, as well as international physicians, scientists and specialists forming our Advisory Board. Registred at the German Registry-Court EKLC acts as a federation which aims to gather, organize and provide access to medically sound, first-hand information and training from leading scientists and experts in the field of Ketogenic Metabolic Therapies for use by physicians, allied healthcare practitioners, naturopaths, nutritionists, dietitians, parents, educators and caregivers. For everyone concerned about the chronic disease now forming the COVID-19 risk group!

We will take the opportunity of the Conference to officially announce the European Keto Live Centre (EKLC) with an introductory lecture on the economic side of NCD, future lockdowns and why we need the EKLC by Dr Tatiana Zarumbina., Expert for International Taxes and IP. Followed by a panel and Q & A with EKLC Advisory Board Members discussing the burning topic and outlook of hope to COVID-19

"Flatten the NCD Curve - to Face Future Viral Attacks!"

Panel discussion in Bergün 2019 with EKLC Founding Members:
Dr Jean Pierre Spinosa MD, Dr John Schoonbee MD, Dr Georgia Ede MD and Prof Thomas Seyfried PhD (and guest Prof Dr Helene von Bibra MD 2nd left)
